Night Lighting
Night lighting of the landscape is another dimension that can transform your landscape to a moonlight paradise as sundown approaches. Lighting is used to allow one to safely transition from one area of the yard to another. Whether located by stairs or just to illuminate a path, soft indirect lighting casts a glow brightening only the immediate area. The use of lights can also highlight points of interest in the landscape. Uplighting trees results in the plant glowing from the base, front lighting a tree will cast a shadow onto a building and having lights pointing down from up in trees, gives the effect of the moonlight filtering down. When all of these design techniques are combined, the overall effect gives the outdoor environment a completely new dimension to be enjoyed.
